Christianity is a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who is considered by Christians to be the Son of God and Savior of Humanity.

  • Christians believe in one God in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ: the Son, whose crucifixion and resurrection provide the means for salvation
  • Salvation: Christians believe that through faith in Jesus, individuals can be saved from sin and its consequences and receive eternal life.
  • The Bible: The Christian holy scripture, consisting of the Old Testament (shared with Judaism) and the new Testament, which includes the Gospels that recount Jesus's life and teachings.

Practices and Worship:

  • Sacraments: Baptism and Eucharist (Communion) are central to Christian practice.
  • Prayer: A key aspect of Christian life, including both communal and personal prayer.
  • Liturgy: Regular worship services, often on Sundays, which may include hymns, readings from Bible, a sermon and sacraments

Holy Days:

  • Christmas: the birth of Jesus
  • Easter: The Resurrection of Jesus
  • Pentecost: The coming of the Holy Spirit - on this day, Mary and the apostles were together, when a great rumble was heard in the sky and a windstorm arose, tongues of flame appeared, which rose above those present and filled them with the Holy Spirit. "Repent and be baptized all of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." And those who believed his words were baptized, and on that day about three thousand souls joined them. This event suggests that the Christian faith belongs to everyone and that the divine truth can be understood by everyone through the apostles and converted people: the language of faith is universal. Spreading this language and the word of God is the mission of the Christian church that was created at that time.
